june

so exams are almost over woo!
my revision plan is almost completely crossed out omg
oh yeah but yesterday i went to a £1 thrift store and yeah, got loads of slightly funky clothes for just £1 each which was fabulous. best purchase of the day was this pimpin beauty of a [faux] fur coat

also i've been feeling so summery (despite the weather) and yeah i'm really feeling this top/skirt combo. The top is a hand-me-down from my cousin who got it in some charity shop years ago and the skirt is from my mum's bottomless collection of fifties clothes. I really like the yellow and grey together i just feel so dainty when i wear it. also it twirls out really far when i spin around which is fun.

alsooo i stuck loads of postcards to my bedroom door (which actually fell off like 2 days later) but it looked really groovy while it lasted and so i'll attempt a more permanent version in the summer

this week i've been listening to: surf city by jan and dean

may

hahaa i'm so appallingly bad at sticking with anything ever but yay, i'm baack! so i'm in the middle of exams and life is like one giant textbook at the mo, but today i took a day off and went to oxford street woo. i realised that shopping is brilliant and that a ridiculous amount of time has passed since i had a good shopping trip.

i wore my big fat fur coat, which i bought about a month ago for £1!!! and have been wearing constantly ever since (well whenever it's cold enough...which is basically always)
and also my black preppy topshop skirt which i am trying to wear more cos i never ever wear it and it was like £40 which is a lot of money for something i've worn 3 times in a year... i bought this top in topshop and its realllyyy simple but i really like it. and yeah i kind of feel like it goes with the skirt, รก la  below

oh yeah, please don't be freaked out, i've just recently decided that it is kinder on the eyes if i blur my face :)

i found this bag in the corner on top of my wardrobe - win!
hmm another groovy thing is that Q magazine keep sending me free copies, which is yeah, awesome. today i got lazy oaf, Q and h&m magasines fo' free and also a lazy oaf newspaper so i am feeling like queen of the bargains.
i also got this cute little card, with a central london tube map on the back, which is handy :)
also, i am really digging the topshop bags right now, i just think they are like uber funky

this week i've been listening to: everything is my fault by wavves.
i love wavves so much they're are THE bom diggity, so yeah, go listen. also i feel that a lot of their songs are super relatable not in terms of literal experiences but their interpretations of emotions are spot on.

February

Although this is a new blog i'm really bad at beginnings so i'll just start as though i've been going for ages. so this week it's finally half term! (although i have to go into school on 3 of the days but whatevs.)
On Saturday i was working all day and then babysitting in the evening. All fine and dandy until the parents walked in on me fast asleep on the sofa... twas not my finest moment.
Anyhoo on Sunday I decided to recover with a combo of culture and retail therapy. I went to the national gallery in Trafalgar square and bought myself some badass postcards for my art project on religion:
(btw i'm not religious but i think all the renaissance art is so gorgeous)

I also took some pictures, for the people power/protest section of my art project, of these people protesting about the political oppression in Kurdistan :

I then hopped it over to Oxford street and indulged in some shopping. i bought: a black top from monki for £3! some vintage jeans from beyond retro and an acid wash denim shirt, also from beyond retro.

The jeans and top aren't that exciting but they are just fab staples and i've been needing some jeans for tooo long. also my camera ran out of power before i could take a picture with the shirt..

I also went to topshop, where I got a free makeover. I don't wear loads of make-up usually and I emerged feeling a bit like a drag queen but it was free so I couldn't say no. While I was there I also picked up a [free] badge and went in the [free] photobooth with ma buddy moll

ahh i love free stuff.

au revoir

this week i've been grooving to: i am the walrus, the beatles
